We diversify:

- by region between East, West and Southern Africa to minimize risk factors associated with consumers, culture, disease, currency, politics, and weather;

- by stage of business development between early and expansion stage to minimize risk factors associated management, competition, technology, regulatory compliance, litigation, and corporate governance; and

- to maximize returns, by locating close to raw materials, sector expertise, low cost labor and land, and market demand.

Our Projects

    Although our socially responsible portfolio companies are headed by highly-qualified, professionally-trained Africans, who already have ‘skin in the game’, most still require some specialized business assistance and development funding before they can mobilize the next round of funding to reach sustainability. Current funding requirements for our portfolio of companies is $10,000,000 in grants, low-interest loans and equity funding.

 Africeuticals’ portfolio includes the following high impact ventures:

  Building Kenyan and Nigerian distribution systems to supply essential drugs to private pharmacies and clinics. This will be accomplished by registering and manufacturing a full line of quality generic pharmaceuticals under a US brand. Project parties have expertise in all aspects required. Project requires under $4M investment and estimates 10x returns.

  Marketing an award winning anti-counterfeiting technology solution to help distributors protect pharma consumers in Kenya.

  A sustainable, decade-old health management network seeks grants to help the lowest paid employees of South Africa pay their share of initial primary care premiums. $2M will initiate long-term care programs for $100,000 workers.

  A program to train graduate students how to match US investors with African ventures is being launched by the Monterey Institute of International Studies in California. Business incubators and graduate schools of business in Kenya and Nigeria are collaborating. This Frontier Markets Scouts program seeks $3M in program development and scholarship funding.
